Family-run vineyard Tussock Hill produces hand-tended high quality wines. Located on the hillside above Christchurch City, at 240 meters above sea level, Tussock Hill is beyond the frost line on a sundrenched, west facing hillside. The site is sheltered from the cool easterly sea breezes and experiences, a microclimate that is quite unique. Clay soils of organic origin, with a variety of minerals and trace elements are present, giving the wine unique characteristics not found elsewhere in Canterbury. Tussock Hill uses biodynamic, organic and sustainable methods over the whole vineyard as well as in the growing of the vines.
