Marcus Zhao has over 30 years’ experience at senior financial management level for a variety of organisations, primarily in the service sector.
At just 27, he was the youngest ever Director – Administration & Finance for the NZ Manufacturers’ Federation, based in Wellington. He subsequently took on the role as CFO for Bell Gully. At that time, Bell Gully had over 500 staff and 65 partners or stakeholders, generating over $65 million in revenue.
After a brief stint with a publicly listed (NYSE) US based Multinational Corporation, he went on to help establish a software export company in 2000 and remained there for the next 11 years.
Zhao has been actively involved in the Real Estate Industry for the last four years and has developed a particular interest in the tourism and hospitality industry; more specifically hotels, motels, vineyards, and lifestyle farms. Zhao has links with investors from Asia and besides English, he is also conversant in four major Chinese dialects; Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, and Shanghainese.
As well as being a qualified accountant, he is also a fully certified Licensed Real Estate salesperson.
