The Trivago Awards 2018 were based on 175 million online user ratings. Trivago has revealed the results of their annual awards across five different categories; 5-star, 4-star, 3-star, Alternative Accomodation, and Value for Money.
“As an independent source of hotel information with data on over 175 million guest reviews, we are well-positioned to identify the top-rated hotels that excel at delivering exceptional guest experiences,” said Johannes Thomas, Managing Director of Trivago N.V. “The trivago Awards give us the chance to recognise and honour the hard-working hoteliers behind these exemplary hotels, and we are thrilled to do so again this year.”
Millbrook Resort in Arrowtown was recognised as the top-rated 5-star hotel in New Zealand, closely followed by Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa in Queenstown, and Mangapapa Hotel in Havelock North.
The trophy for the best 4-star hotel went to King And Queen Hotel Suites in New Plymouth. "Being able to deliver a world class experience in a small regional town really exceeds expectations and leads to very satisfied guests,” added Daniel Fleming, King And Queen Hotel Suites' general manager.
Collingwood Manor in Nelson was awarded the top-rated 3-star hotel in New Zealand. Acorns Wellington. walked away with the Value for Money award, and last but not least, the award for best alternative accomodation went to Bluestone on George in Dunedin.
