Marriot International has partnered with homesharing company Hostmaker for a six-month trial period. Guests will be able to book one of 200 of Marriot’s Tribute Portfolio Homes in London, with an average cost for a one to two-bedroom apartment going for £200-250 (about NZD 400-500) per night.

The trial program is taking place in London, where Hostmaker is based. It will last until October, then Marriot will assess the results and consider expanding the program.

Other major hotel companies Hyatt Hotels Corporation and AccorHotels Group have already made ground in the homesharing business alongside homesharing giants, Airbnb, Booking.com and HomeAway.

Regular guests will be pleased to know that both the Marriot Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty programs will both be available when staying at Tribute Portfolio Homes.
