STUNNING LOBBY REDESIGN AT SOFITEL QUEENSTOWN

The lobby at Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa has undergone a stunning redesign, taking on new levels of opulence and luxury.

Designed by Auckland-based interior designers Macintosh Harris, the lobby has a glamorous feel, with a tasteful colour palette that mirrors the turquoise hue of Lake Wakatipu, and gold highlights which link back to Queenstown’s gold mining past.

The new look combines local and international art pieces such as ‘Rosie’, an artwork by Auckland-based artist Robert Scriven located above the fireplace in the lobby in the lobby includes a series of murals titled ‘Monochromatic Otago’ and a sculptured floor lamp composed of a handmade brass loudspeaker called ‘Lampada Ribot’.

The standout piece, however, is the 100-year-old Steinway piano in the lobby.

“We’re delighted with the new look lobby which infuses our rich heritage with contemporary aesthetics. It’s a celebration of the allure and energy of being in Queenstown,” said Sofitel Queenstown general manager, Jeremy Samuels.
