Cardrona Alpine Resort and Queenstown businessman John Darby have partnered together to make New Zealand’s largest ski field.
Soho Basin, which faces Queenstown and covers the southern and southwest faces of Mt. Cardrona, is adjoined to Cardrona Alpine Resort’s southern boundary.
The two ski areas will join together, adding 500ha of high altitude skiable terrain to the Cardrona Alpine Resort ski field. The expansion more than doubles Cardrona’s total size, taking it to over 900ha of skiable terrain.
The expansion also gives Cardona opportunities to grow its summer operations, including mountain biking, dining and other events.
