Hilton is preparing to build a new hotel at the UK’s premier motor racing venue that will open in 2020. The hotel will contain 197 guest rooms and a rooftop terrace, offering race-day accommodation for all major sports events held at the circuit. The new Hilton Garden Inn will enhance the racing venue’s offering outside the race calendar and guests, via a cross-circuit footbridge, will have direct access to the Silverstone Wing Conference Centre.
The Silverstone race track was built on the site of an airfield used by the Royal Air Force in World War II and is internationally renowned as the home of British motor racing.
“Silverstone held the very first British Grand Prix 70 years ago and has continually hosted the event since 1987, drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators and millions of viewers around the world each year. Hilton embodies the venue’s racing legacy with a long-standing partnership with the McLaren Formula 1 Team. We are privileged to open a hotel in such a prominent location on the circuit and we cannot wait to begin welcoming guests to this iconic location,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Hilton.
The hotel will have extensive views over the circuit and include a coffee shop and restaurant. Guests will be offered a premium race-day experience, enjoying the events from their guest balconies.
