INVERCARGILL HOTEL MET WITH MIXED RECEPTION

Invercargill Licensing Trust hotel.

Invercargill Licensing Trust’s hotel project has come under scrutiny from public submissions which feared the cranes used to build the hotel will be too tall.

Of the 18 submissions made on the proposal, 11 supported the project, five opposed it, and two were neutral.

Other issues highlighted in the submissions included noise, dust and vibration which complainants believed could affect day-to-day living.

If all is to go smoothly from here, the hotel is expected to be completed by October 2021.
