Mediation between Air New Zealand and the unions representing Air New Zealand engineering and logistics workers have yet to find a resolution. The unions have confirmed plans to strike for three full days on 21, 22, and 23 December, three of Air New Zealand’s busiest days.
The union E tu said it worked late on Monday night to try and reach an agreement that would meet the interests of both union members and the travelling public, however, a settlement has not been reached yet.
“The decision to issue strike notices was not taken lightly. While the bargaining team is trying hard to get a workable offer, the union members are steadfast in their commitment to taking industrial action if necessary,” said a representative for Aviation at E tu.
