Demolition is almost complete at the CBD building that sits where Invercargill Licensing Trust will build ‘The Langlands’ hotel.
However, demolition company Ryal Bush Demolition has found asbestos at the site, delaying the demolition.
The discovery of asbestos all the way through the buildings set the project back two months, as it had to be carefully cleared and cleaned. The dangerous materials have now been removed and disposed of.
Demolition remains on track to be completed by April.
