Accor invests in chatbot tech

Accor has participated in a $10 million fundraising round for French chatbot company Mindsay (formerly known as Destygo).

“Two years ago, Accor spotted Mindsay as a company that was way ahead of the curve in conversational marketing,” said Thibault Viort, CEO, Accor.

Mindsay also had investment from Paris Aeroports.

Guillaume Laporte, CEO of Mindsay, said that the funding round will be used to develop its AI model further.

“Through the creation of self-learning conversational marketing tools, our mission is to provide the most effective and precise answers to the most frequently asked questions from online customers,” said Laporte.

“This improves customer engagement and satisfaction and reduces workload for customer support teams by 80 percent, allowing customer service teams to focus on complex requests and drive efficiency.”

Mindsay’s platform lets customers build, maintain and monitor chatbots on a single platform across website, mobile apps, social media, and systems like Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant.

Accor had previously launched the AccorBot in Australia late last year. It was integrated with Facebook, and Accor’s Facebook followers with everything from hotel reservations and customer service queries to providing ideas for things to do in a city.
