Marriott’s luxury Asia Pacific expansion plans

Marriott has plans to grow its luxury portfolio in the Asia Pacific, with 13 luxury properties ready to open in 2019.

“Asia Pacific’s luxury travel industry is one of the fastest-growing in the world, driven by markets like China and India,” said Peggy Fang Roe, chief sales and marketing officer, Asia Pacific, Marriott International.

“On top of this, global luxury travellers today are seeking more than just the opportunity to indulge, the want experiences that deliver personal meaning and significance.”

Ranging from the Maldives to Perth, Marriott is opening four new The Ritz Carlton brand properties.

Firstly, The Ritz-Carlton, Perth is expected to open in October and will mark the brand’s long-awaited return to Australia. China and India will also get new Ritz-Carlton properties, with The Ritz-Carlton, Xi’an opening in June, The Ritz-Carlton, Nanjing opening in October and The Ritz-Carlton, Pune in September.

The fast-growing luxury brand JW Marriott also has another five properties opening like JW Marriott Hotel Qufu which opened its doors this May and JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong which opened in July.

The Luxury Collection and The St. Regis brand also have new hotels opening.
