Four New Zealand Hotel Industry Scholarships, each worth $3000 will be awarded in 2020.
The scholarships will go to students studying towards a career in hotel management, entering their final year of study.
The scholarships are funded by the New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference, using a budget which was previously allocated to gifts for conference delegates.
Launched at the 2019 New Zealand Hotel Industry Conference, applications for the scholarships open later this year.
“Hotels offer fantastic career opportunities, from guest-facing roles to numerous behind-the-scenes positions that all contribute to running an accommodation property,” said Sally Attfield, hotel sector manager, Tourism Industry Aotearoa.
“We want to encourage young people to consider hotel careers.”
