Queenstown is to see the launch of New Zealand’s first ice cream-themed hotel room.
Available for bookings from 22 July to 4 August, the ‘Halo Top Ski Lodge’, a partnership between Halo Top and luxury boutique hotel QT Queenstown, will provide guests with a hefty après-ski snack in the form of unlimited Halo Top ice cream.
The room features Halo Top-inspired interiors, as well as branded ski apparel and amenities. A Halo Top freezer filled with ice cream is also provided along with a Halo Top cocktail kit, and the guest experience is rounded out with an exclusive Halo Top room service menu, featuring such concoctions as the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dessert Nachos or a Dairy-Free Caramel Macchiato Dessert Shake.
“Our Kiwi fans welcomed Halo Top to New Zealand with open arms so we wanted to do something special for them,” said Doug Bouton, Halo Top Creamery President and COO. “To make it easy on our fans, we’re bringing Halo Top straight from the freezer to where we know they’ll be this winter – the ski lodge. QT is the perfect partner to bring the Halo Top Ski Lodge to life, and we can’t wait to hear what our Kiwi fans think.”
Jeremy Black, General Manager of QT Queenstown, welcomed the collaboration. “We like to do things a little different at QT, so we were excited to work with Halo Top Creamery to create this unique room takeover at the hotel,” said Jeremy. “The reinvigoration of one of our Remarkable King Rooms, which offer unparalleled views of Lake Wakatipu and the snow-capped Remarkables mountain range, maintains QT’s quirky design and creative flair while embracing Halo Top’s iconic and fun style.”
