NEW APPOINTMENTS AT WHARF HOTELS

Hong Kong hotel management company Wharf Hotels has announced three new directorship appointments. The group runs Marco Polo and Niccolo Hotels.

Balwin Yeung has been appointed group director of global sales. Yeung will be leading Wharf Hotels' global sales offices in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, the Americas, the UK, and Europe. Balin earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in hospitality management from the University of San Francisco. In his most recent role prior to joining Wharf Hotels, he worked as Director of Sales and Marketing for Hong Kong and South China at Royal Carribean International.

Sandy Russell, vice president of sales and marketing, said, "Acting as the backbone to guide our sales professionals across our 17 Niccolo and Marco Polo Hotels and global sales offices, Balwin will further develop our corporate account portfolio, and amplify the sales vision for the company."

Ben Choi has been appointed Wharf Hotels' new group director rooms, leading the group's rooms division for its 17 Niccolo and Marco Polo Hotels across China, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. Ben acquired his master's degree in International Management from Macquarie University, and brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role. He leaves a 10-year stint with Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited, where he drove brand and operations standards for new and operating hotels, facilitated systems research and development to ensure operational efficiency, and guided on brand enhancement.

Louis Ver has been appointed as group director of e-commerce for Wharf Hotels, expanding its sales and marketing force in a new role, and captaining its digital strategy and commercial business. Louis graduated from Ecole Supérieure et d'Application Des Transmissions as IT Support in Rennes, Frane. Prior to joining Wharf Hotels, Louis ran his own e-commerce business before moving to hospitality, where he built his career with Accor Hotels.
