AIRBNB LISTS HOT DOG HOTEL

Fans of fast food can now rent and spend the night in an authentic Oscar Meyer Wienermobile via Airbnb, in celebration of the American National Hot Dog Day.

The novelty campervan, which is advertised as a 'Camper/RV' with one bed and one bathroom, rents for US$136 a night, and is one of six promotional vehicles owned by the American meat and cold cut company Oscar Meyer.

According to the Airbnb listing, the Wienermobile comes complete with: "A bed for dreaming of wienies, sitting area for discussing at length whether a hot dog is a sandwich, and other amenities like adjacent outdoor spaces for the bathroom and a hot dog picnic zone."

Unfortunately, guests will not be able to drive the Wienermobile, which is parked for the duration of the promotional stunt in Chicago, Illinois. But amenities include a mini fridge stocked with Oscar Mayer hot dogs and Chicago-style hot dog essentials, an Oscar Mayer roller grill to take home, an outdoor space for eating, and a custom Wienermobile art piece by local artist Laura Kiro.

The Wienermobile is available for rent for a few nights in early August, coinciding with the Lollapalooza music festival. This is the first time that guests will be able to sleep inside the Wienermobile since the original vehicle was introduced in 1936.
