Bicycle touring company Grasshopper Tours has announced a new bike tour of Northern Thailand, in a bid to appeal to the growing adventure tourism market.
The 9-day trip starts in Chiang Rai, near the border with Laos and Myanmar, and travels through mountain landscapes and forests to Chiang Mai. The tour costs $2,800 per person double and encompasses the dramatic Doi Chiang Dao Mountain, one of the highest peaks of the Daen Lao Range, as well as the Pha Daeng National Park, and an elephant sanctuary in Maetang.
"This tour encapsulates the best of the Chiang Mai region and provides an opportunity to make genuine connections with friendly locals," said Grasshopper Adventures CEO Adam Platt-Hepworth. "The trip gives guests plenty of times to take in the surroundings, with a few extra days in Chiang Mai to sample all of the best food, cycle the back alleyways, and visit the stunning natural highlights of the city’s surroundings."
