Hilton has signed 120 new hotels in Asia Pacific in the first half of 2019.
This is a marked development from even two years go, when 40 Hilton developments were signed in the entire year of 2017.
The latest wave of growth brings the group’s total number of hotels open and under development across the region to 845.
“Looking at the volume of new hotels signed, we’ve had our best ever start to the year from a development standpoint,” said Hilton’s Asia Pacific area director Alan Watts.
“The continued rise in travel across the region from the growing middle class, coupled with ongoing investment in infrastructure, makes the hotel industry a very attractive investment.”
Having recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, Hilton was named the region’s best hospitality workplace for the third year running by Great Place to Work.
In May, Hilton overtook Marriott as the world’s most valuable hotel brand portfolio.
