AJ HACKETT MAKES A SPLASH IN TAUPO

AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand has added Taupo Bungy to its portfolio of adventure tourism experiences with the company set to take over the site in late November.

“We’re delighted to have secured Taupo Bungy and we’re looking forward to building on what is an already thrilling experience in a spectacular part of the world," said co-founder and managing director Henry van Asch.

“Taupo, like Queenstown, is a scenic and exciting visitor destination and we’re looking forward to working with Destination Great Lake Taupo and other local operators to further boost tourism in the region.

“We’re also excited to be a part of – and contribute to – the local community.  And as part of this, we’ll be rolling out a series of community initiatives that we operate in our other locations – such as our JumpStart programme where all school leavers living locally have the opportunity to (Bungy) jump into their future.”

Mr van Asch said the acquisition of Taupo Bungy rounds out a portfolio of experiences across the company's five other sites, with the Taupo Bungy and Swing providing a different offering to those in Auckland and Queenstown.

“The mighty Waikato River and the activity of the geothermal spring nearby bring a uniqueness to the experience and we’re excited about putting an AJ Hackett Bungy twist on this.”

Founded in 1988, AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand today challenges more than 150,000 people every year to ‘live more fear less’ at one of its eleven bungy, catapult, swing, zipline, bridge climb, SkyJump and SkyWalk experiences across Queenstown, Auckland, and now Taupo.
