Auckland's Sylvia Park shopping centre is to be expanded, with a new 15-storey hotel/office block included in the project.
Plans for the 35ha Sylvia Park Mt Wellington property were unveiled by Clive Mackenzie, chief executive of owner Kiwi Property Group, earlier this week. The company are in advanced discussion with international hotel operators.
The new site currently houses around 150 carpark spaces, which Kiwi Property Group plan to replace with a new south car park for 900 vehicles, bringing the entire Sylvia Park parking spaces up to 5000.
The hotel is likely to be housed on the top floors of the block, with some or all of the bottom 10 floors housing office spaces.
