A European subsidiary of Accor Hotels has suffered a major data breach that may have affected up to 600,000 hotels worldwide.
The database of Gekko Group, a France-based B2B hotel booking platform, was discovered to have been breached, exposing over 1 terabyte of data. This included data from Gekko Group brands and clients like Teldar Travel and Infinite Hotel, as well as external websites and platforms like Booking.com.
A wide variety of data was exposed, including hotel and transport reservations, credit card details, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of various parties, and login credentials for client accounts on Gekko Group-owned platforms.
