Europe's largest hotel operator, Revo Hospitality Groups, has dramatically announced it has filed for "self-administration".
Revo Hospitality Groups, which boasts the title of Europe’s largest hotel operator, has collapsed into administration. In a statement, the Berlin-based company said it has filed for “self administration”.
The company was only formed in April 2025, under the umbrella of European multi-brand hotel operator HR Group, which was founded in 2008.
HR Group said the past 12 months had been a period of great expansion for its brands, having acquired more than 60 hotels from H-Hotels, and a further 10 properties from H World International.
At the time of its collapse, Revo Hospitality was managing more than 260 hotels across 12 different European markets. Some of the properties operate under own brands Vagabond Club, Hyperion Aedenlife and Aedenlife. Revo Hospitality has also worked with several global hotel chains, including Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Accor and IHG.
According to reports, 140 companies belonging to Revo Hospitality Group filed for insolvency under their own management at Charlottenburg District Court in Germany. Some 125 hotels in Germany and Austria are due to remain in operation with 5,500 employees.
"We will immediately stabilise operations and implement initial restructuring measures in consultation with key stakeholders. We have applied to the Federal Employment Agency for pre-financing of salary payments for the months of January to March 2026," said Gordon Geiser of GT Restructuring.
Earlier in the week, Dalata Hotel Group Pandox has responded to Revo Hospitality Group’s move to what it termed “self-administration under the German Insolvency Act”, issuing a statement addressing the potential impact.
It said its exposure is expected to be limited and confirmed it holds bank guarantees covering the equivalent of one year’s rent.
Pandox’s exposure relates to leases across nine hotels with a combined 1,859 rooms in seven cities across Germany, accounting for around four percent of the group’s total portfolio.
