Experience exquisitely curated and delectable morsels at Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour’s Weekend Afternoon tea. The menu has been carefully crafted by Chef Marc de Passario (La Maree) and his pastry team using the best of locally sourced produce, French culinary techniques and tea infusions.
Three-tiered stands are presented with deliciousness. The savoury menu includes a Traditional Ratatouille made from locally produced vegetables served in a cone with black truffle aioli and peppermint, crème fraiche salmon tart cured with Scapegrace Gin, wasabi caviar, and French vanilla rose tea, and toasted brioche with Waitoa free-range egg mousse and Earl Grey tea gel.
Enjoy delicate finger sandwiches filled with Manuka honey glazed ham and dijonnaise, and hazelnut crackers adorned with smoked kahawai, Kawakawa, ginger and lemongrass tea gel.
The sweet menu is indulgent with fluffy vanilla scones, topped with strawberry and Merlot infused jam and vanilla whipped cream, a Veuve Clicquot and strawberry mouse with white chocolate sponge magnum, and chardonnay infused gel macarons.
Spoiled for choice the tea menu is extensive with tea to suit all palates from traditional black teas to medicinal blends, white, green and oolong tea to fruit and herbal infusions.
If preference is for something a little bubblier, enjoy a Champagne Afternoon Tea with a glass or bottle Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Champagne Brut.
