As travel to the Big Apple grows, New York Marriott Marquis, part of Marriott Hotels, has announced the completion of an extensive renovation. Located at the epicentre of Times Square, the transformation includes redesigned guestrooms, restaurants, public areas, and over 110,000 square feet of meeting and events spaces that offer respite from but are also inspired by the city's electric energy.
"With the completion of this captivating redesign, we continue to build momentum for the brand's evolution and modern appeal that is tailormade for our renowned, wonderful hospitality to empower guests' every pursuit," said Drew Iddings, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, Marriott Hotels.
Awe-Inspiring Welcome
Upon arrival to the eighth-floor lobby, guests will discover a reoriented space designed for a seamless and energising arrival experience. The reception desks have been shifted to the north side of the hotel, opening the northernmost wall to sunlight with installed prismatic waved glass and adding to the whimsical motifs throughout the space. The reception desks are now separated by archways featuring playful wood panelling, as a lit acrylic 3D sculpture by Parachilna sits on a pedestal along with Kaleidoscope-inspired New York City artwork by Kalisher.
Spacious Guestrooms with a Sense of Place
The hotel's 1,971 spacious guestrooms have been completely transformed, debuting a modern, thoughtful design complemented by locally inspired accents to reflect the city's energy. New features include:
- HD televisions.
- Expanded closets.
- Deluxe walk-in showers with spa-like lighting.
- Ultra-comfortable platform beds.
The extensive storage, sizable floor space, and calm, neutral colour palette set these rooms apart from standard city accommodations. Additionally, guests will continue to have access to thoughtfully curated in-room TED content throughout their stay, thanks to the first-of-its-kind, longstanding global partnership between Marriott Hotels and TED.
Elevated Food & Beverage Experiences
New York Marriott Marquis has partnered with the notable Union Square Hospitality Group and Union Square Events on food and beverage concepts across three updated restaurants and the catering for hotel events.
With spectacular, two-story wall-to-ceiling windows overlooking Times Square and the Great White Way's dazzling lights, Broadway Lounge delivers an unmatched experience in the centre of it all. A small taste of New York, the restaurant's menu showcases bold flavours, featuring wood-fired pizzas, gourmet snacks, and handmade cocktails. To either side of Broadway Lounge is Perch, there is an intimate outdoor terrace where guests can soak in the energy of Times Square.
Hidden under the ninth floor is Revel & Rye Bar and Restaurant. Resembling an old-school whiskey bar, Revel & Rye offers a sophisticated atmosphere for guests to indulge in over 20 wines, an extensive American whiskey list, and a New York-themed dining menu. Drawing inspiration from theatre marquees, the bar is fitted with linear piped lighting that flows onto a metallic gold ceiling for an ambient and cosy atmosphere. Bringing the bright lights of Times Square indoors with two large LED "billboards" on either side of the restaurant, guests can watch the latest sporting events, movies, and more.
The newly redesigned M Club – a global brand signature across Marriott Hotels – creates an elevated experience for a chic New York City-style living room feel. Reserved for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite, and Ambassador Elite members and paying guests, the majestic double doors welcome guests to a spacious lounge that seats nearly 200 people. The lounge features a library, business support centre, and ample seating, such as shared worktables and banquettes, and features plenty of charging stations. A complimentary full buffet breakfast is offered, along with a "Grab & Go" station for members to enjoy a coffee or pastry.
The hotel's expansive Atrium Greatroom lobby – a stylish hub that serves as a great social gathering place from day to night – features contemporary décor and layout. Guests are invited to relax, collaborate or grab a nightcap. A breakfast buffet and seamless connectivity with free Wi-Fi are also available.
Next Gen Meeting Spaces
The Terrace on the ninth floor provides a dramatic open event space under a soaring atrium. It connects the Marquis Ballroom to the Jolson, Cantor, and Barrymore Rooms, which was extended to serve as an additional function space, complete with streetlamp-inspired lighting.
On floors three through seven, meeting spaces and pre-function event spaces are available, including the Broadway Ballroom and Marquis Theatre foyer, which showcase newly designed carpets and wall coverings. Milliken carpet patterns are reminiscent of overlapping starbursts and kaleidoscopes. The largest ballroom stage in the city, The Broadway Ballroom is fitted with state-of the-art sound system, which reaches the balconies and wings to provide smooth continuous audio with exceptional quality.
"We are thrilled to unveil the reimagined New York Marriott Marquis, which both honours the hotel's history and celebrates its place in modern New York City," said Dan Nadeau, Area General Manager and General Manager of New York Marriott Marquis. "This marks a new milestone where we have always been an iconic fixture. Now we're welcoming travellers back to New York with a fresh and exciting slate of events, facilities, and design to help turn the page on our newest chapter."
