The American Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AHLA Foundation) has awarded over one million dollars to 336 hospitality students for the academic school year of 2022-23.
This year’s diverse pool of recipients includes 51 percent students of colour and 72 percent female students ranging in age from 18 to 70. With six-affiliated Historically black colleges and universities (HCBUs), the hotel industry foundation continues its strong commitment to supporting the future of hospitality, offering financial assistance to deserving scholarship recipients.
In the second year of its partnership with ten community colleges, the number of two-year college students awarded scholarships has grown by 56 percent to 88 recipients. The remaining 248 recipients are enrolled in four-year hospitality programmes at 71 institutions across 36 states. To date, AHLA Foundation has contributed almost $16 million nationwide.

- Santiago Reveles Gonzalez (University of Houston)
