Langham Hospitality Group's internationally-renowned, Michelin-starred destination for fine Cantonese dining, T'ang Court, officially opened doors to its highly anticipated Gold Coast location this month.
Reflecting the timelessness of the Tang Dynasty – China's golden age – the new T'ang Court, Gold Coast promises a unique and tantalising Cantonese fine-dining affair, embracing the essence of the Southern Chinese region with authentic Cantonese flavours.
Presenting elevated culinary masterpieces, seasonal delicacies and exquisite flavours crafted with the finest local produce, paired with a bespoke wine list, diners can look forward to a choice of three set menus and a range of a la carte dishes.
Housed inside the region's newest luxury destination hotel, The Langham, Gold Coast, diners of T'ang Court will be welcomed with a unique melding of modern luxury and traditional authenticity within the 80-seat indoor restaurant, featuring luxe furnishings and contemporary designs accented with bespoke abstract art pieces by Australian-Chinese artist, Lindi Li to represent a celebration of the vibrancy of the T'ang Dynasty.
The new Gold Coast restaurant honours its highly revered Michelin-starred sister restaurants across Asia, best known for bringing the finest in Cantonese dining. This includes T'ang Court, Hong Kong, which is three Michelin-starred for seven consecutive years since 2016. It earned its first star in 2009 and second in 2010.
Director of Chinese Cuisine for Langham Hospitality Group, Howard Lam is known for opening T'ang Court restaurants across the globe and said the Australian-first restaurant is an unmissable experience.
"Our first Australian T'ang Court restaurant marks a significant leap forward for the local dining landscape. Authentic, traditional Cantonese fine dining is comparatively rare in Australia, so we're thrilled to bring this unique experience to life for locals and travellers, from other states and even internationally," said Lam.
"Diners at T'ang Court on the Gold Coast will be able to indulge in the same golden age Cantonese flavours that have earned T'ang Court at The Langham, Hong Kong, three Michelin stars and seen its many other award-winning sister restaurants across the world become highly-sought-after dining destinations.
"T'ang Court Diners can expect a true gastronomic affair with some of the best Cantonese flavours and an array of traditional masterpieces."
Some of the extensive menu's specialities include a three-part tantalising ode to the traditional Cantonese duck; Duck Pancake with Chef's special hoi sin sauce, duck bun with lychee and raspberry sauce, with supplemental caviar, and sliced duck breast and leg accompanied with plum sauce; a simple yet delightful centuries-old Asian delicacy; Sauteed pearl meat with ginger, shallot and Asian greens; and a flavourful explosion featuring locally-sourced fresh seafood; Spicy black tiger prawn with roasted garlic.
The Langham, Gold Coast General Manager, John O'Shea said the opening of T'ang Court is the jewel in the hotel's culinary crown.
"The Langham, Gold Coast is bringing The Langham's legendary legacy of elegance and luxury to life in an equally iconic beachfront location, and such a renowned dining experience like T'ang Court is the perfect extension of this luxury," said O'Shea.
"We're excited to see such a respected and sought-after dining experience breath new life into true fine dining here on the Gold Coast and are looking forward to welcoming guests of The Langham, locals of Queensland and travellers into this one-of-a-kind culinary delight."
The restaurant is open five days; serving lunch from 12.00pm – 3.00pm and dinner from 5.30pm – 11.00pm, Wednesday to Sunday each week. It is located on level 3 of The Langham, Gold Coast hotel with on-site parking available for diners.
