The Board of Edgewater-Lake Wānaka has announced the appointment of Colin McClean as its new General Manager, effective in December.
Currently, McClean serves as General Manager of Hotel Operations at SkyCity Entertainment Group based in Auckland. Over seven years at the company, he has held Hotel Manager and Director of Sales roles within the Group. Before this, McClean was with Accor in management roles throughout New Zealand.
There was great interest in the role, and the Board were humbled by the calibre of applicants.
The chair, Andy Macfarlane, shared that Edgewater and Wanaka were fortunate to have a General Manager of McClean's experience and attributes moving with his family to the region. The owners of Edgewater also look forward to McClean's contribution to Edgewater's upcoming refurbishment project.
McClean's qualifications include a degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Lincoln University and a Master's degree in International Hospitality Management.
Current General Manager Catherine Bone is returning to the United Kingdom and will finish her role at the end of October. In the interim, financial controller Tania Delahunty will be acting General Manager until McClean commences his role in December.
