The newest Cantonese fine dining destination on the Gold Coast, T’ang Court, was awarded the prestigious Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat four months after opening. Located inside The Langham, the restaurant's rapid success follows after it quickly earned the reputation as a must-eat place in the heart of Surfers Paradise.

General Manager, John O’Shea, shared his joy in the success.

“It’s an incredible honour to be awarded our very first Chef’s Hat by Australian Good Food Guide and even more so, having been recognised in such a short succession to our opening late last year.”

T’ang Court is the most recently opened restaurant on the list of 23 Gold Coast venues to have received one Chef Hat in this year's awards. The newcomer stands on the list alongside iconic dining establishments such as Rick Shores, Kiyomi, and Mamasan Kitchen and Bar.

“Since opening T’ang Court on the Gold Coast, we have been driven to create a truly unique, fine dining experience for both locals and travellers by immersing them in the same traditional golden Cantonese flavours that have earned T’ang Court at The Langham, Hong Kon three Michelin stars,” detailed O’Shea.

The restaurant quickly stood out with its distinct and traditional Cantonese dishes, which include a 14-day dry-aged duck served as duck pancake with hoi sin, duck bun with lychee and raspberry sauce, and duck legs with plum sauce; hot and spicy black tiger prawns with roasted garlic; black truffle fried rice; and, Wok-fried southern rock lobster with ginger, spring onion, and e-fu noodle.

As the first Australian iteration of T’ang Court, the team aim to elevate the Gold Coast culinary scene with its unrivalled service.

“This award serves as a nod to the team’s accomplishment in bringing this vision to life, and we’re excited to continue to build on this success in the coming years.”
