Jet Star Depart’s for Uluru

Jetstar has bought back low fares between Queensland capital, Brisbane, and Uluru.

The seasonal service has kickstarted a four-month run, operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, and departing three times a week. The service is predicted to allocate more than 18,000 seats during the season.

Jetstar is currently the only service that offers direct flights between Brisbane and Uluru on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

The service will operate in a partnership deal between Northern Territory tourism provider, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, between June and October. Jetstar is currently the largest carrier to Uluru, departing Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. The airline also flights between Darwin and six other domestic and international locations.

Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully, said the seasonal service will provide a significant tourism boost to the Northern Territory and also southeast Queensland.

“We’ve seen strong demand for flights between Brisbane and Uluru since launching the route in 2018 and we expect demand to be even higher in 2023,” Tully said.

One-way fares start at $168, which Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia CEO, Matt Cameron-Smith adding that the service has been welcome news for Travellers who are interested in visiting the region.

“Indigenous tourism is increasingly important to domestic and international travellers and the restart of this service from Brisbane will provide visitors with direct access to one of the world’s most ancient and fascinating cultures,” said Cameron-Smith.
