Boutique Adge Hotel in Surry Hills

La Vie Hotels and Resorts has broadened its Australian locations, by adding a new property, Adge Hotel and Residences, in Sydney’s Surry Hills in August.

The new architecturally designed hotel is located alongside the former Cambridge hotel, which has undergone a $65 million transformation to the Adge Brand.

The new Adge Hotel and Residences will have a total of 242 guest rooms, as well as an Italian restaurant within the complex. The building was designed in collaboration between Tzannes and Team 2 Architects, with interiors by SJB. The design focus has been on bold colours and eclectic furnishings, reflecting the culture and spirit of the Surry Hills area.

La Vie Hotels and Resorts CEO and Founder, Jerry Xu, said it was a thrill to work with the Cienna Group team to open the new hotel, labelling it as wonderfully colourful and vibrant.

“We believe Adge Hotel and Residences will become a true representation of the spirit and energy that makes this neighbourhood so special,” said Xu.

The first stage of the hotel to open will feature 93 guest rooms and 12 two-bedroom apartments. Each floor of the building has a unique colour and style associated with it, including carpets and pod-style bathrooms. Each apartment has open-plan living and dining areas, as well as a fully equipped kitchen and wraparound balcony.

Specially commissioned artwork will adorn the hotel walls by Australian artist, Adrian Hing. An abstract steel sculpture by Anna Varendorff that uses neon lights to create shadows is also on the exterior of the building.

Soul Deli, an acclaimed Korean cafe, will feature in the hotel’s lobby. The restaurant will be fitted out with retro furnishings, pink-tiled tabletops, and yellow booths. Japanese restaurant, Omakase, will also be part of the complex, offering intimate dining for only eight guests at a time.
