Unmissable SIAL Paris 2024

SIAL Paris promises an exceptional edition in 2024 as it celebrates its 60th anniversary.

"There will be lots of surprises in store for visitors, and some nostalgia for those brands who won SIAL D'Or Awards. These awards honoured innovative food and beverage products from around the world that demonstrated innovation, marketplace responsiveness and commercial success. Having been a judge at these awards for many years and bringing home 28 awards for New Zealand brands; the awards were a wonderful opportunity to pit New Zealand brands up against the best the world had to offer," said Tania Walters, publisher of SupermarketNews.

Back in 1964, the first Salon International de l’Alimentation (International Food Show) was a major event. It opened its doors to welcome visitors to the new Centre of New Industries and Technologies (CNIT), a masterpiece of modern architecture and the show took place during the Paris International Food Week in early November.

Experts from the sector and visitors came that year from 26 countries. The 1964 edition was open to both the trade and the public. At that time, a third of expenses for a French household were dedicated to food. Both professionals and the public discovered a wide range of international food products at the show.

The first edition of SIAL Paris also looked towards the future: France had just experienced the opening of its first hypermarket. At the same time, deep-frozen food was ready to debut in Europe -it effectively reached France in 1968. A new era in food consumption was taking shape.

The unmissable 60th-anniversary edition

When SIAL Paris opens its doors next year for its 60th edition from 19 to 23 October 2024, it is expected to attract some 285,000 visitors from 200 countries, 7,500 exhibitors from 130 countries at the 60th-anniversary edition, while over 1,000 journalists will provide media coverage. The show will once again be the not-to-be-missed event of the agri-food industry. On average, SIAL Paris generates 200 contacts made per exhibitor, with 83 percent of buyers indicating to have made transactions on-site or after the show.

For its 60th anniversary, SIAL Paris has created a brand new logo that’s colourful and festive while remaining coherent with the well-established brand identity. The 60th-anniversary logo will make all communication pop, thanks to the use of its bold colours.

SIAL Paris management sees the 60th anniversary as an opportunity to blend a rich history and experience with new challenges. The team wants to make the 2024 edition under the idea of looking back over past years. It’s a past that inspires tomorrow’s creations, a look back that opens up the future. Codes that oscillate between past, present and future will mark the event. SIAL 2024 wants to inspire visitors, help them anticipate trends and bring them unexpected experiences. SIAL 2024 will surprise everyone!
