The Chancery Rosewood has announced the appointment of Stephanie Clarke as Director of Sales and Marketing, Sophie Rough as Director of Talent and Culture, and Alice Jónsdóttir as Director of Communications.
Developed by renowned real estate developer Qatari Diar Europe LLP, the Grade II listed building has been reimagined as a new retail destination and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts luxury hotel. These three key appointments have come in preparation for the highly anticipated debut of The Chancery Rosewood, which will open in the prestigious neighbourhood of Mayfair in 2025.
“We are delighted to have Stéphanie, Sophie and Alice join our commercial team at The Chancery Rosewood,” said The Chancery Rosewood’s Managing Director, Michael Bonsor.
“I am confident that their respective divisions will flourish under their leadership. Each brings a wealth of international experience and insight in the luxury hotel industry, in addition to a notable track record of managing high-performing teams.”
Prior to joining Rosewood, Clarke led sales and marketing at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah and The Lowndes London, where she achieved remarkable milestones in revenue growth and strategic partnerships.
The opening and positioning of The Carlton Tower was a key success in the development of the Jumeirah brand in Europe. Clarke has made significant contributions to esteemed establishments in the luxury hospitality sector, since she started her career at The Ritz Paris, where she played an integral role in overseeing sales and marketing during the hotel's four-year renovation project. She later became Director of Sales and Marketing at Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, where she orchestrated a comprehensive commercial strategy and developed partnerships.
Rough has joined The Chancery Rosewood from Soho House & Co, where she served as Head of People. During her time there, she was instrumental in enhancing the work culture by improving the employee experience while maintaining and protecting the essence of the brand, and successfully launched several people-focused initiatives.
Bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in human resources, with a strong focus on commercial success, people strategy and organisational development, Rough has planned to maintain and build on Rosewood Hotel Group’s strong culture through the selection, development and engagement of associates.
Prior to joining The Chancery Rosewood, Jónsdóttir was the Global Head of PR and Communications of Corinthia Hotels where she played a pivotal role in standardising communications, creating a comprehensive messaging framework for the flagship hotel and portfolio properties. Combined with her expansive network of industry leaders across the UK, GCC, USA and Europe, Jónsdóttir is a highly accomplished and inspiring hotelier, with a distinguished career spanning top-tier luxury brands. She will bring a wealth of expertise in shaping brand identities and fostering strategic relationships.
Located in the prestigious neighbourhood of Mayfair, The Chancery Rosewood will balance the rich history of the iconic building with contemporary comforts prioritised by the modern luxury traveller. The hotel will showcase architecture restoration by British architect Sir David Chipperfield of David Chipperfield Architects, and interiors by French architect Joseph Dirand. Upon completion. The Chancery Rosewood will deliver Rosewood’s iconic residential atmosphere through 144 thoughtfully designed guestrooms and suites, as well as revitalised public spaces and dining venues designed by Tristan Auer and Bar Studio. Additional amenities and facilities consist of a Yabu Pushelberg-designed integrative wellness facility, several retail outlets, and a selection of meeting and event spaces, including a state-of-the-art ballroom. The hotel will mark Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ second property in London and ninth in Europe.
