USA | Hotel Indigo has made its long-awaited entrance in the Smokies, officially opening its new Gatlinburg Downtown property.

Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg Downtown has officially debuted in the heart of the Smokies, offering a unique blend of elevated Southern hospitality, rustic-chic comfort, and Appalachian charm. Perfectly positioned in downtown Gatlinburg, TN, the dog-friendly, 136-room hotel offers discerning travellers thoughtfully designed accommodations, rooftop dining with panoramic alpine views, 9,300 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, a home base to nearby major attractions, and more. The property's arrival commemorates Hotel Indigo's 175th hotel opening globally and features the largest and tallest rooftop destination in the market. Owned by Viral 24 LLC, Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg Downtown is dedicated to honouring its community through spaces that reflect the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Great Smoky Mountains.

"Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg Downtown is a love letter to this incredible destination," said Victor Patel, Owner of Viral 24 LLC.

"Every aspect of the hotel, from the design to the dining, invites our guests to experience the spirit of the Smokies. We've taken the wonderment of our surroundings and paired it with a level of service and comfort that makes every guest feel both at home and inspired, whether they are seeking adventure, relaxation, or both."

SK Ballard Contract Interiors was selected to lead the hotel's interior design and art selection. The concept marries the glamour of Art Deco with the rugged beauty of the Great Smokies, inspired by the shared era of the 1920s and 1930s, when the design movement flourished and the National Park was established. This vision comes to life through bold black, gold, and jewel tones, warm velvets in the lobby, and organic accents and mountain motifs that root the space in its Appalachian surroundings. Cozy seating areas with lush armchairs, sofas, and lounge chairs are thoughtfully arranged around a central fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows to encourage connection and conversation. At Altitude Restaurant and Rooftop Bar, the outside is brought in with natural-edge tables, river-pebble tile, and greenery, complemented by Art Deco details such as mosaic chevron glass tile and shimmering metallics. Throughout the property, lighting fixtures with gold finishes, geometric forms, and cut glass add layers of sophistication, while curated works of art from East Tennessee artists and archival black-and-white photography celebrate the people and places of Gatlinburg's past and present.
