Mandarin Oriental x Globe-Trotter Celebrate The Art of Travel

HONG KONG | Mandarin Oriental has partnered with Globe-Trotter, bringing together two iconic names united by a shared devotion to craftsmanship, heritage and the art of travel.

Once the luggage brand of choice for Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II, Globe-Trotter has meticulously crafted exquisite vulcanised fibreboard cases for well over 100 years.

Renowned for their iconic romantic style and durability, they remain a preferred choice among seasoned travellers. Aptly named Globe-Trotter, the brand’s reputation for time-honoured craftsmanship and personalisation sat naturally in harmony with Mandarin Oriental.

With a touch of nostalgia for the Golden Age of travel, Globe-Trotter’s creations represent a distinguished nod to the beauty of new discovery and exploration.

At the centre of the partnership is a collection of cases and accessories embodying the design philosophies and symbolic motifs of both Globe-Trotter and Mandarin Oriental.

A suite of luggage and travel accessories, designed in signature Celadon Green, draws inspiration from the fine porcelain of the Song and Ming dynasties.

Historically mixed to evoke the colour of jade, Celadon Green is deeply meaningful, softly suspended between blue and green, and offers a subtle yet distinctive nod to Mandarin Oriental’s Asian heritage and the brand's signature colour.

The outer shells of the cases and accessories also feature Globe-Trotter’s signature hardware, with ivory leather detailing and brass finishes, handcrafted by skilled artisans in England, retaining all the original techniques that have evolved with Globe-Trotter to this day.

Inside each case, a reinterpretation of the Mandarin Oriental fan motif is revealed: a radiant pattern finished in contemporary cotton blend. For a final finishing touch, a selection of exclusively designed fan charms provides a stylish touch to the travel suite.

The collaboration is anchored in Mandarin Oriental's landmark 150th anniversary in Bangkok.

To mark the occasion, a limited Bangkok edition of cases has been released, featuring additional fine details such as natural leather elements designed to develop a rich patina over time, an interior lining with a radiant phoenix motif, a symbol of renewal and longevity, and a special-edition anniversary patch.

Across Mandarin Oriental’s global portfolio, the partnership will come to life through a series of on-property experiences, each reflecting their location.

The collection will also be available worldwide through Globe-Trotter’s online store, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London, Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing, and Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong, as well as through Mandarin Oriental’s dedicated e-commerce storefronts.
