Wellington’s James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor has partnered with the ZEALANDIA eco-sanctuary to strengthen the hotel’s environmental goals.

As part of the agreement, for every night booked at the Wellington hotel on grandchancellorhotels.com, $2 will be donated to the sanctuary’s conservation efforts.

“Our visitors will be supporting conservation even while they sleep,” said Steve Martin, hotel general manager, James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor.

“Visitors to Wellington are eco-conscious and want to experience the natural world New Zealand is known for. We’ll also be encouraging them to visit ZEALANDIA, just ten minutes from our hotel.”

James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor already has other green initiatives in place to reduce the hotel’s environmental impact, including the donation of surplus food and surplus packaging.

ZEALANDIA, on the other hand, has a fleet of electric passenger shuttles, composts all the café’s green-waste, collects rainwater and generates some of its own power through rooftop solar panels.
