PARAMOUNT STUDIO TRANSFORMED INTO HOTEL

Brunswick-based Breathe Architecture has transformed the former headquarters of Paramount Pictures in Sydney into a boutique hotel.

The project involved restoring the old film studio and its adjacent warehouse, which were linked together with a two-storey extension that took nine years to complete. Paramount House Hotel resides alongside co-tenants Golden Age Cinema, Paramount Coffee Project, The Office Spa and Paramount Recreation Club.

The 29-suite hotel combines contemporary details with the old building's nostalgic charm, creating a unique stay for guests. The interior design incorporates many elements of the building’s original skeleton.  For instance, the bedrooms have kept their raw concrete ceilings but have been paired with timber flooring. The rooms also feature worn-out brick walls alongside modern pastel furniture and interiors.
