Element by Westin has officially made its mark in Australia with the opening of Element Melbourne Richmond.
Part of Marriott International, the hotel is the first Element-branded property to open in Australia.
The “longer-stay” brand markets itself on its eco-conscious mentality and commitment to helping guests maintain a balanced, healthy and active lifestyle while travelling.
“The launch of Element Melbourne Richmond marks a significant milestone for Marriott International, as the first of its kind in Australia,” said Mike Fulkerson, vice president, brand and marketing, Asia-Pacific, Marriott International.
“A recognised industry leader in the longer-stay eco-space, Element Hotels promotes a balanced approach to living and travel. The debut comes as travellers are increasingly seeking out accommodation that offers a flexible environment to live, work and connect.”
The Element Melbourne Richmond is situated in the Botanicca Corporate Park on the banks of the Yarra River, 6km from the Melbourne CBD.
The hotel is designed to let guests rewind and recharge. Melbourne-based architects Rothelowman designed the building. It features a curved façade which reflects the Yarra River, while colour and textures inspired by the Australian flora cover the interior spaces.
Other features of the property’s design are its oversized windows which let in a wealth of natural light, and eco-conscious touches like energy-saving LED lighting, CO2 sensors monitoring air quality and water-saving taps and fixtures.
