Mario Sandulescu has been named general manager of Queenstown's highest altitude boutique hotel, the Kamana Lakehouse.
Formerly the hotel manager, Sandulescu assisted with the 73-room upscale property's recent multi-million-dollar redevelopment by owners Coherent Hotel Limited.
Previously, he spent more than 10 years in high-end hotels around the world, having worked in Europe, Singapore, the Carribean, and the United States. Most recently, he led guest focus operations at the luxury Dorado Beach a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico.
He then moved to New Zealand to work with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in Wellington, before joining the Queenstown team in 2017.

Queenstown's newest boutique accommodation, Kamana Lakehouse, opened in late 2018 following a multi-million-dollar brand development by owners Coherent Hotel Limited. Located above Lake Wakatipu on Fernhill at the heart of Aspen Grove, the hotel features 73 contemporary ensuite rooms surrounding a central dining and event space.
