World-leading hospitality company IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Kimpton Hua Hin Resort in collaboration with long-standing partner Asset World Corporation (AWC), a leading lifestyle real-estate group in Thailand.

Since its debut in Bangkok in 2020, the Kimpton brand, part of IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, has shown significant growth thanks to its heartfelt service, vibrant design and award-winning culinary experiences. Slated to open in 2024, the 124-room resort marks the fourth Kimpton hotel in the Kingdom.

The recent agreement is part of a long-term partnership between IHG and AWC to jointly oversee a portfolio of properties across Thailand, including the highly anticipated 302-room InterContinental Chiang Mai Mae Ping set to debut this year. The announcement follows three signings from last year, including two hotels in Bangkok’s Chinatown - InterContinental Bangkok Chinatown and Vignette Collection Bangkok Chinatown, and Aquatique Pattaya, also part of IHG’s Vignette Collection.

“We’re delighted to partner with AWC to bring our joint vision for Kimpton Hua Hin Resort to life. As the fourth Kimpton hotel to be signed in Thailand – following Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Kimpton Kitalay Samui and Kimpton Khao Yai – the resort will further strengthen the brand’s positioning in Thailand and around the world, and establish it as a hotel of choice for travellers seeking one-of-a-kind experiences,” said Serena Lim, Vice President, Development, Southeast Asia and Korea, IHG.

Located at the former site of the Imperial Hua Hin, Kimpton Hua Hin Resort will undergo an extensive renovation. With an idyllic beachfront, the new resort will offer guests a selection of four restaurants and bars, a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, and meeting spaces.

According to recent IHG research, Hua Hin is among the top ten searched destinations in the region for international travellers.

For a century, Hua Hin has been the seaside resort destination of choice for Thai royalty and is well-established as a cosmopolitan weekend escape for locals. It is also a favourite among second-home investors searching for a stylish and scenic retreat away from the bustling city, making it an ideal location for the design-focused and unique Kimpton brand.

Just a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Bangkok and ten minutes from Hua Hin Airport, Hua Hin is renowned for its white sandy beaches, scenic golf courses and nearby Kaeng Krachan national park, the largest park in Thailand showcasing waterfalls, caves and hiking trails.

“We look forward to Kimpton Hua Hin Resort quickly becoming a great success and can’t wait to welcome both domestic and international guests through its doors in 2024,” said Lim.

Thailand remains a strong growth market for IHG. The signing of Kimpton Hua Hin Resort signals the company’s latest move to expand its double its Luxury and Lifestyle portfolio in Thailand and its estate across all of its brands in the country by 2026.
