IHG Hotels & Resorts and Siam Sindhorn Co., Limited have crowned Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok as the first Vignette Collection hotel to open in Asia. Vignette Collection is IHG's newest Luxury & Lifestyle collection brand, offering authentic, experiential and considerate stays. Located in the bustling streets of Bangkok, the hotel's location at Langsuan provides convenient access to major districts such as Sukhumvit, Silom, Siam and Chidlom.

According to Khun Umaporn Vongpipun, General Manager of Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok, it has been an honour to spearhead the transition from an independent hotel to becoming the first property under IHG's Vignette Collection to debut in Asia.

"I am proud of my exceptional team as we bring Sindhorn Midtown into a new era and watch our hotel's personality shine through by introducing our new guest experiences, offering a sense of connection with the heritage of Bangkok."

Each Vignette Collection property is distinct, with its own outlook and story to tell. Yet, they are connected by a shared belief that travel can benefit local people and places. Daily complimentary rituals at each hotel create a sense of anticipation and belonging and meet the rising demand for more thoughtful travel experiences.

Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok presents a one-of-a-kind stay, creating a haven in the heart of Bangkok by blending city elements into the guest experience. Between 5 pm and 6 pm daily at The Black Cat, a complimentary Lao Khao shot is served with a mixed selection of pickled fruits, bringing guests closer to the soul of Bangkok and setting them up for a night of exploration. Ont he second floor, younger guests can dial the Emergency Popsicle Line to receive a complimentary iced treat, delivered promptly by a dedicated Popsicle Butler.

Designed by Eight Inc., an award-winning strategic design company, Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok showcases a contemporary design and laidback elegance adorned with striking local art. Punctuating the minimalist lobby space, an extraordinary textile masterpiece by Thai artist Kachama Perez embodies the hotel's commitment to supporting Thai craftsmanship. Featuring, reflective strands of recycled aluminium woven between indigo threads, the artwork illustrates the negative human impacts on marine life and encourages dialogue on ocean conservation. Perez acquired her advanced dying and weaving skills during her time with the Karen tribe in the mountains of Northern Thailand.

Hotels under the Vignette Collection prioritise creating and cherishing a sense of place. From the 1920s until 1968, the Silom line would pass Ratchadamri Road – just moments from Sindhorn Midtown – before terminating at the Pratunam intersection. With this in mind, P49 Deesign, a local design studio, adopted the story of the Bangkok Tram to enhance the design of the lobby area, featuring dark metal symbolising tram tracks previously run by the hotel at the reception.

Each of Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok's 393 rooms includes spacious format bathroom amenities from Karl Lagerfeld and modern comforts such as Fritz Hansen's iconic DropTM chairs. The Fitness Centre offers sweeping city views, as does the Horizon Pool on the 18th floor. Additionally, every floor features work by Fine Art Photographer Visarute Angkatavanich, whose image of a Siamese fighting fish was launched on the iPhone 6s in 2015.

Recently, the hotel introduced three new dining offerings; The Black Cat is an atmospheric Thai Liquor bar with live music on selected evenings. Inspired by the golden age of Thailand, Bangkok'78 serves the city's most outstanding culinary hits in a retro-inspired concept; meanwhile, Sip & Co. is a stylish addition to Langsuan's flourishing café culture.

Recognising the importance of education equality, Sindhorn Midtown has partnered with the Kuvanant Foundation, which aims to provide educational opportunities for local students and those living with disabilities in rural Thailand. Upon checking in, guests are encouraged to donate USD$1 to the foundation. The hotel will also provide internship opportunities for the foundation's students to gain first-hand work experience and offers career opportunities and insights into the hospitality industry.
