EXO Travel, a company specialising in the craft of unforgettable tours across Asia, has promoted Alexandra Michat to the newly-created role of Chief Purpose Officer (CPO) from 1 September 2022. Michat has been with EXO for eight years and previously served as the Director of Sustainability and Director of the EXO Foundation.

According to Hamish Keith, CEO of EXO Travel Group, the new Chief Purpose Officer position is a testament to their commitment to rebuilding a more sustainable and responsible business post-Covid.

"EXO has long been at the forefront of responsible travel in Asia, and we see ourselves very much as a regional leader in sustainability."

"We are very proud of the work we have done with EXO Foundation and Travelife, and Alexandra has been at the vanguard of all our initiatives and accomplishments."

Looking to the future, after three tough years, it is more important than ever to plan for the next growth phase with a solid platform. With this in mind, EXO intends to rebuild and improve its business model with a clear mission and genuine purpose.

In Michat's new role as part of the company's senior leadership team, she will be fully empowered to drive EXO's purpose and ensure the company stays on a positive path.

"We believe putting purpose at the core of our business will ensure the resilience and sustainability of our company," said Keith.

Alexandra will continue to work alongside the EXO Foundation and external partners to establish more shared value project opportunities while also working to develop EXO as B-Corp.

As a Destination Management Company (DMC), EXO operates at ground level daily to ensure that tourism does not come at the expense of local communities and the planet and that travel can enrich and improve lives.

Since its inception in 2011, the company claims to have donated more than USD 750,000 through EXO Foundation.
