Pacifica Hotels Purchases Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland

Pacifica Hotels has announced the $32.9 million purchase of the Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland. As the largest owner and operator of boutique hotels along the Pacific Coast, the company welcomes the iconic Portland property to its impressive portfolio of 40-plus lifestyle and brand hotels across California and Hawaii.

"The Portland hospitality market has a long history of success and is a market we have been looking to have a presence in for many years," said Chris Marquis, Executive Vice President of Pacifica Hotels. "We are thrilled to have our first be Hotel Vintage with its heralded history as an iconic hotel in the Portland market. We believe the strong historical dynamics of the Portland hospitality market pair well with our expertise in design-forward, experiential hotels. We will continue to look to grow our footprint throughout the Pacific Northwest."

Initially built in the late 1800s, the hotel underwent a multimillion renovation in 2015 and 2018 that overhauled the lobby, rooms and amenities. Today, each hotel floor is dedicated to a different Willamette Valley American Viticultural Area, while each room is named after a local winery.

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland features 117 hotel rooms, 8,000 square feet of event space, a street-level restaurant and bar named Il Solito and Bacchus Bar, a private wine cellar, and a game lounge. The hotel's lobby also doubles as a tasting room and the graffiti art murals have been recognised among the best in the nation.

"As the Portland hospitality market continues to regain strength, we are working diligently to reopen Il Solito, which we believe will be a top restaurant destination in downtown Portland upon its reopening," added Matt Marquis, CEO of Pacifica Hotels. "We also have preliminary plans to add additional food and beverage outlets within the hotel, which we are very excited about."

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland is located at 422 SW Broadway, on the corner of SW Broadway and SW Washington Street. The hotel is within walking distance of many tourist attractions and popular eateries.
