Singapore Airlines to Expand Flights in Australia

Singapore Airlines is to dramatically increase its position in Australia in 2024, with more flights, seats and connections on the cards.

South-West Pacific regional vice president of Singapore Airlines, Louis Arul, said that the new plans will cater to the demand for air travel within the area, as well as ensuring Australians will have more seats and flight options to choose from.

“These changes provide more capacity and connectivity to Singapore’s global network via the iconic and popular Singapore Changi hub. Singapore Airlines remains committed to ensuring capacity matches the high levels of demand we continue to see.”

The changes are subject to regulatory approval and will be phased in onward from the end of March 2024. Outlined in the master plan are an additional 4,700 seats per week in back and forth from Australia to Singapore, compared to the airline’s current passenger intake in 2023.

This announcement is part of Singapore Airlines' broader extension announcement, which included a ramp up services to destinations across the airlines current network, supporting strong demand for air travel to key international markets, including restoring Airbus A380 services between Singapore and Barcelona. The new extension has also aimed to resume pre-pandemic operational statistics to cities within Singapore Airlines’ global network.
