VIETNAM | Alma Resort has introduced a new therapeutic treatment, combining traditional and cultural elements with wellbeing.
A therapeutic treatment that combines warm bamboo sticks, coconut oil and traditional Vietnamese massage techniques has emerged as the new signature treatment at the Alma Resort’s Le Spa.
The 90-minute Bamboo Harmony treatment draws on the natural properties of the giant, woody grass that endures in Vietnam as one the country’s most durable icons.
The treatment deploys smooth, heated bamboo sticks across the body, helping to improve circulation, release built-up tension, relieve muscle fatigue and reconnect with a sense of balance. The warmth of the bamboo helps relax tight muscles and allows therapists to work more effectively. Coconut oil, prized for its moisturising properties, helps nourish the skin and enhances the flowing movements of the massage.
Guests seeking a wellness escape can also take advantage of Alma Resort's Spa Inclusive Package, which includes a daily 60-minute spa treatment for each adult, daily breakfast, access to the resort's extensive leisure facilities and a range of additional benefits throughout their stay.
“Few materials are as synonymous with Vietnam as bamboo; used for centuries in everything from homes and handicrafts to farming and fishing, it remains one of the country's most enduring symbols,” said Alma Resort’s managing director Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, who has again been named ‘Best General Manager in Vietnam’ at this year’s Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific, having also won the readers’ choice award in 2024. "With Bamboo Harmony, we wanted to pay homage to Vietnam’s heritage in a way that feels authentic and connected to the destination. The use of the bamboo sticks is something else and immensely rejuvenating and restorative.”
The launch of Bamboo Harmony expands the wellness offering at Le Spa, which was named Vietnam's Best Hotel Spa in the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific in both 2023 and 2025 and was also recognised among Asia's Top 10 Spa Hotels by Smart Travel Asia last year. The spa offers a wide range of wellness experiences, from traditional massages and facials to yoga, meditation and sound healing sessions with the resort’s resident yogi Umesh who trained in Rishikesh.
Located on Cam Ranh peninsula overlooking Long Beach, Alma Resort features 30 hectares of beachfront grounds, a cascade of 12 swimming pools, a water park with a lazy river, sports facilities and a comprehensive wellness programme centred around Le Spa.
