EVT Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Harry Thaliwal as Executive Vice President – Asia, bringing one of the region’s most experienced hospitality leaders into the business as it accelerates growth across Asia.
Based in Bangkok, Thaliwal will lead EVT's growth ambitions across Asia, joining the group’s expanded development function headed across Asia Pacific by Brett Forer, reinforcing the group's commitment to expanding beyond its home markets.
As the world's fastest-growing hospitality region, Asia represents a significant opportunity for EVT Hotels & Resorts as it looks to extend the reach of its distinctive portfolio of brands, QT, Rydges, Atura and LyLo, into new markets.
A highly regarded hospitality leader, Thaliwal brings more than three decades of international experience across Asia Pacific, with a proven track record of building, transforming and growing hotel management businesses in some of the region’s most important hospitality markets, including Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan.
Most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Cross Hotels & Resorts, Thaliwal led a significant business transformation that delivered strong commercial performance, accelerated network growth and strengthened the company’s market position. Under his leadership, the business achieved substantial expansion and was successfully positioned for a premium acquisition.
Throughout his career, Thaliwal has held senior leadership positions with leading hospitality organisations, including Centara Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental Hotels Group. Known for his expertise in driving brand growth, operational excellence, owner relations and strategic expansion, he has built a reputation for delivering sustainable business performance while creating long-term value for stakeholders.
With extensive experience living and working in Bangkok and across Asia, Thaliwal is uniquely positioned to lead EVT’s regional growth ambitions and establish a strong platform for the company’s long-term success in the region.
