Air Canada Open New Maple Leaf Lounge

Air Canada has opened a new Maple Leaf Lounge at San Francisco International Airport, marking the airline’s 28th lounge worldwide, and third within the United States.

The new lounge is located within Terminal Two of the airport and features an outdoor area, the first of any Air Canada Maple Lounges. Also included are food and beverage amenities and facilities to cater to travel needs. The lounge has been best designed to create a comfortable and relaxing space for Air Canada travellers.

Air Canada managing director for products and services, Jacqueline Harkness, said that the airline was thrilled to open the San Francisco location, which gave customers in the ‘Bay’ area a way to enjoy the airline’s award-winning hospitality.

“It’s one more way we’re investing to become San Francisco’s favourite way to travel internationally,” said Harkness.

The new lounge has a capacity for 165 seated guests and is a total space of 8168 square feet. The location will cater primarily to guests travelling from California to Europe, Asia and Australia, as well as Air Canada’s three main hubs in Canada: Toronto Pearson, Montreal Trudeau, and Vancouver International Airport.

Design was a significant focus during the planning phase of the new lounge, as well as embracing the local San Francisco and California areas, including a range of Californian Wines, and beer from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, and beverages from America’s first craft beer brewers, Anchor Brewing.

Air Canada has also re-introduced its presence at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, with the opening of its new United Club location, opening a new customer service desk and an access policy consistent with the Maple Leaf Lounges.

Available to Air Canada flyers on Aeroplan 50k, 75k, and Aeroplan Super Elite status, as well as Star Alliance Gold members, Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders, and customers departing with business class tickets.
