Located 30 minutes from Auckland’s city centre is Lavender Hill. This sustainable lifestyle farm produces small-batch gin by embracing the art of handcrafting spirits using ingredients grown and harvested from the farm.

Designed to elevate the gin experience, its London Dry Gin combines rosemary and lemon peel with traditional botanicals, offering gin enthusiasts a refreshing and new flavour profile.

“It’s important to Lavender Hill that we update our spirit range with new experiences. Incorporating our farm-grown rosemary and lemon is the perfect combination for a traditional and elegant gin, and we’re excited for people to enjoy it however and wherever they like,” said Jason Delamore, co-owner of Lavender Hill.

“We invite gin enthusiasts to visit the farm and see how we produce our award-winning products. Guests can immerse themselves in our picturesque farm, tour the distillery, and round off their journey by tasting our full range in the unique gin tasting room.”

Others in Lavender Hill’s current spirit range, including medal winners in the NZ Spirit Awards, are Lavender Gin, Smoked Honey Gin, Saffron Gin, a traditional Sloe Gin, and a gorgeous Limoncello.

Sam Kim of Wine Orbit, an independent reviewer with over 30 years of industry experience, described the London Dry Gin as “immediately attractive on the nose with classic juniper and citrus peel aromas with floral and fragrant spices nuances.”

It is upfront and intense in the mouth yet elegant and harmonious, with a saline texture. It finishes long and refreshing.

“As part of our dedication to sustainability and best distilling practices, our new still runs on renewable solar power and utilises pure rainwater from the farm,” said Trish Delamore, co-owner of Lavender Hill.

The Little Lottie, a 150-litre solar-powered commercial gin still used to produce the new London Dry Gin, has recently joined Lavender Hill's craft distillery operation.
