JW Marriott Auckland has made further progress in its complete renovation of guest rooms, and overhaul of meetings and event spaces with 'neuro-inclusive' technology and innovations.
All 286 guest rooms and suites will be renovated by the end of the year, and general spaces, such as the ballroom, have already opened and are in use. The next 80 rooms, at a cost of $100,000 each, are expected to be finished in May. Forty rooms have already been completed. The level-10 pool, spa and gym will also undergo a soft refurbishment, and is set for completion later in the year. The progress of the renovations has been rapid despite a noticeable increase in expenses.
“JW Marriott Auckland is proud to announce the opening of bookings in our first renovated function spaces, providing local and domestic guests a space to come together and connect, and the first function spaces in New Zealand to offer Microhire’s state-of-the-art audiovisual technology,” said JW Marriott Auckland general manager, Girish Talreja.
Inspired by the principles of Well-being, the renovation at JW Marriott Auckland will elevate the level of modern luxury for the brand and in the surrounding area.
Four food and beverage venues will also be renovated, including the 600sqm all-day dining Kiwi Brasserie, a high-end teppanyaki restaurant, the JW Bar, and Lobby Lounge.
The JW Marriott Auckland is the first hotel to launch into the New Zealand market using Microhire's audiovisual technology. It provides meeting and event organisers with the proven expert support of the two organisations' combined knowledge and experience and an in-house audiovisual technician to tailor requirements for a memorable event.
“Microhire is delighted to partner with JW Marriott Auckland and further grow our Marriott relationship as we expand into the New Zealand market," said Geoff Townend, regional general manager for Microhire in New South Wales and New Zealand.
“We pride ourselves on enhancing the event experience by blending exceptional “guest-first” service and top-quality technology enhancements across the event spaces, many of which are firsts for the Auckland market. Our team is excited to deliver incredible events in these beautiful spaces and play our part in the next chapter of the hotel's story."
Marriott's loyalty programme, Marriott Bonvoy, has also influenced the renovation. Nearly 76 percent of guests that stay at JW Marriott Auckland are Bonvoy members, and it has grown by 50 percent in the Asia-Pacific region since 2019.
