Auckland's latest alfresco dining courtyard, Esther Courtyard, has officially opened, offering selections of wine, pizzettas and the perfect summer vibe.
Located in the heart of Auckland’s inner-city hub, Esther Courtyard is the latest restaurant to turn up the heat with alfresco dining.
Esther Courtyard, QT Auckland’s signature restaurant, will officially open for service from Saturday the 12th of October, and to kick things off, will be serving up specialty pizzettas to celebrate its launch.
Perfectly timed for the warmer seasons, Esther Courtyard is a stunning new outdoor dining space, set to be Auckland’s new go-to spot for after-work wines, casual bites, and basking in the afternoon sun.
Located on the harbour side of Esther, Esther Courtyard comfortably seats up to 50 patrons, with a mix of large high-top tables, café-style seating and long, plush bench seats. The stylish space, reminiscent of a Spanish seaside retreat, features QT’s signature black-and-white striped umbrellas, neutral tones, woven textures, and vibrant pops of ocean blue tiles.
The menu takes inspiration from Esther’s Mediterranean-inspired cuisine but with a more relaxed approach to dining. Wood-fired pizzettas (23-inch) are the main event, with elevated combinations of confit garlic, rosemary, ricotta, honey and pine nuts, to pancetta, pecorino, spinach and black pepper or nduja, taleggio, fennel pollen, gremolata. For those in the mood to mezz and match, the menu has a selection of snacks to share, such as lamb souvlaki, Te Koma oysters, Ortiz anchovies on toast, and flatbread with hummus, dukkha and crispy chickpeas.
The drink offering features a curation of cocktails, wines and aperitifs with a dash of European flair, designed to evoke the charm of seaside sipping in Italy. The cocktail list is light, bright and refreshing, while the wines have been selected from regions that complement the Mediterranean menu. For something a little lighter, an aperitif list features Amaro liquors and fortified wines.
Esther Courtyard will be opening daily from 3 pm to late. The space works on a first-come, first-served basis and is not currently taking bookings. The space is also pet-friendly. Visit Esther Courtyard for quick bites, a lingering dinner, or sunlit lounging with friends.
