South Australia Invites Kiwis To Rediscover Life’s Simple Pleasures

South Australia has launched a new campaign inviting Kiwi travellers to experience a side of the destination that feels truly extraordinary.

The Celebrate the Simple Pleasures campaign has tapped into the Kiwi spirit of discovery and the desire for journeys that are meaningful, unhurried, and full of surprises.

From shucking oysters knee-deep in Coffin Bay’s crystal-clear waters to wandering the timeless Flinders Ranges and Outback, where the land tells stories as old as time, a South Australian holiday has an endless supply of simple pleasures.

The new campaign highlighted the abundance of moments on offer in South Australia that make travel and life meaningful. It’s a destination that offers a sanctuary for those who appreciate the simple pleasures in life and seek to relax and unwind, create meaningful memories away from home or seek a unique adventure.

Simple pleasures await at every turn in South Australia. From the wild back roads of Kangaroo Island, where kangaroos leap free and untouched beaches stretch for miles, to the rolling vineyards of the Barossa, where you can sip world-class Shiraz among heritage stone wineries.

“The abundance of simple pleasures across South Australia is ripe for the taking, and this new and distinct campaign invites visitors to do this in the most stunning way,” said South Australian Tourism Commission CEO, Emma Terry.

“We’re inviting travellers to pause, reflect, and find fulfilment in moments like picking fruit straight from the tree, or stargazing under the world’s darkest skies; these are the simple pleasures savoured in South Australia.”

The campaign arrives as more New Zealanders than ever are venturing beyond Australia’s traditional gateways. New Zealand is now the equal second-largest international market for South Australia, with 48,000 Kiwi visitors in 2024 and tourism spend up 29 percent.

Kiwis are staying longer, with the average trip length rising to 11 nights, a 56 percent increase. Off-the-beaten-track regions like the Flinders Ranges and Eyre Peninsula are surging in popularity as Kiwis look for something truly different.

Getting to South Australia is easier than ever. Air New Zealand offers daily direct flights from Auckland to Adelaide, and a new twice-weekly service from Christchurch launching in October. Qantas will introduce a non-stop Auckland–Adelaide route, flying four times a week from October.
